Weight loss is actually a fairly simple process.

However, as humans, we have a few obstacles to navigate, which can, unfortunately, make it harder.

1. You make decisions SOLELY on your scale weight

If you don’t take into account all the factors that affect fat loss then you will make poor decisions, just because you don’t lose weight one week, you cut your calories, making your diet harder and potentially harder to adhere to when you may have actually lost body fat

2. You make decisions SOLELY on how you look in the mirror

You look at your body very differently to how others do, so you probably don’t always see change when it actually HAS occurred. You focus on your problem areas, and look for change there and not ALL OVER your body.

3. You KEEP buying trigger foods and leaving them in the house

If you know you have a weakness for chocolate or crisps, do yourself a favour and don’t buy them. Save your consumption of them for when you visit a mate’s house or a social event. As a single food they aren’t making you fat, but if you can’t control your intake of them, they are likely contributing to how difficult you find losing weight

4. You have a cheat meal/day

Who wouldn’t want a day where you can eat all you want and it doesn’t count? The harsh reality is that it DOES count. Just because your favourite insta-fit celeb does it, doesn’t mean that you should.

5. You know what you should be doing, but you don’t do it

Set yourself a goal, challenge yourself, make yourself accountable. Doing that can make a huge difference to your motivation and desire to make positive changes.

6. Your friends don’t give a shit about your goals

Believe it or not, the people around you probably don’t want you to succeed. It reminds them that they aren’t doing anything positive about their own physique and your success is inevitably going to make them feel worse

7. No one else is going to do the work for you

When you finally realise that no one is going to do the hard work for you, it gets easier. You can get guidance and help to make the journey as SIMPLE as possible. But you have to be ready to give it some commitment. You have to be ready and prepared to say NO to certain things and you CANT carry on doing what you are doing.
